ATV [ All-Terrain Vehicle ] TRAILING
AT FOREST CAMP

Categories: Features, Lakwatsa Dito

While at The Forest Camp, we took control of six all-terrain vehicles [ATV's] for some adventure trailing. Since I am the biggest dumb when it comes to any driven mode of transport, I had Jonathan Alerre [ Antulang's PADI dive instructor ] drive me for the trail up to the Japanese Shrine in the dormant Mount Talinis. The 30-minute ATV-ride to the Shrine was an exhilarating experience in itself. We traversed rough terrains passing through a serene montage of quaint little villages, rolling ... Read More

The 2.2-hectare facility is an oasis of natural wonders and offers the best in outdoor experiences like nature and adventure treks to Casaroro and Mount Talinis, camping, and horseback riding among others. Apart from two large nipa guesthouses, ... Read More

Residents and officials of the historic capital town of Baler in Aurora Province, the birthplace of the late former Commonwealth President Manuel Luis Quezon, celebrated its 397th anniversary last 19th August 2006, coinciding with the late former president’s 128th birthday. We started the day at 6:00 in the morning with a short drive to Bay’s Inn on the shores of Sabang Beach where we have pre-ordered our breakfast the night before. When we arrived at Sabang Beach, a striking scene greeted us: ... Read More

BALER, AURORA PROVINCE
[ Day One: 18 August 2006 ]

Categories: Features, Lakwatsa Dito

Last weekend, we boarded a chartered SEAIR flight to Baler (in Aurora Province), to celebrate with Balerians their town’s 397th Anniversary, and the late former Commonwealth President Manuel Luis Quezon’s 128th birthday. The late President Quezon was born here on 19th August 1878. As the plane made its final descent, the picturesque Sierra Madre mountain range and Aurora’s coastal line came into view. Myself, originally from another province (Isabela) north of Aurora did not expect to see such a magnificent and serene sight. ... Read More
